Community Coordinator

The Community Coordinator will develop and implement meaningful prevention strategies including recruitment, coordination, and mobilization of Asian communities to create culturally responsive social change to combat domestic violence and human trafficking. This position is responsible for engaging with organizational leaders, community partners, community members, survivors, and those with lived experiences to help coordinate prevention activities. The Coordinator will ensure the delivery of quality community-based prevention activities (presentations, workshops, cohort-based work including Promotoras or Community Health Worker programs), effective marketing content (digital and hard copy), and tabling or community events. The role will collect and record data related to outreach and prevention regularly.

The ideal candidate:

    • One to two years experience with recruitment and supervision of Promotoras, Community Health Workers, or volunteers.
    • Comfortable with community education, tabling, and public speaking.
    • Ablility to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; Foxit, Canva or Adobe Photoshop a plus.
    • This position requires frequent driving. A valid California driver license, current personal auto insurance, and an MVR sufficient to maintain insurability under agency auto liability policies.
    • Ability to communicate well and work with people of diverse cultural, professional, and experiential backgrounds.
    • Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships as part of a multi-disciplinary team
    • Committed to social justice and ending Gender-Based violence.
    • Fluent reading, writing, and speaking in Vietnamese preferred.
    • Knowledge of local Vietnamese/East San Jose communities and community organizations preferred
